Amy Winehouse, who has battled substance abuse and mental health issues ever since she burst onto the scene with 2006’s Back to Black, has checked into the U.K.’s Priory Clinic to seek treatment for alcoholism.

“[She] has embarked on a treatment program,” the Grammy Award-winning recording artist’s rep tells People. “She wants to be ready for performances in Europe this summer and decided to seek an assessment. She will remain at the Priory on doctors’ advice.”

Winehouse, 27, is scheduled to perform at three European festivals this summer, including the BBK Live Festival in Bilbao, Spain and the ARTPOP Festival in Bydgoszcz, Myslecinek Park, Poland, according to NME.

Sources tell The Sun that Winehouse was spotted drinking a bottle of vodka early Thursday before returning to rehab.

“She seemed out of it. She was stumbling about, slurring her words,” an onlooker told the U.K. publication. “I was shocked to see her buy vodka so early in the day, and even more shocked to see her knock it straight back.”

The source adds that Winehouse went to a nearby hair salon, dashed into the restroom, and vomited all over the facilities. The singer’s rep has come forward to deny that she vomited at the hair salon.
