Andrews Out, Westrbook In
Philadelphia Eagles guard Shawn Andrews will not start in Sunday's season opener against the Carolina Panthers.
According to the Seattle Post Intelligencer, Philadelphia Eagles right guard Shawn Andrews will miss the season opener against the Carolina Panthers due to a back injury. This may be a bad sign for the Eagles as Andrews missed most of last season after having surgery on his back.
ESPN reports that Andrews, a two-time Pro Bowl selection, said his back starting bothering him on Wednesday and did not practice on Thursday or Friday. Winston Justice will start at right guard in place of the injured Andrews. Justice started all four preseason games at right guard.On a positive note, Pro Bowl running back Brian Westbrook has been cleared to play for Sunday's game, states Newsday. Westbrook had surgery on his knee and ankle in the offseason.
