Andy Dick Following in Kramer's Shoes?
Just weeks after Michael Richards, formerly known as crazy-haired Kramer on Seinfeld, went into overdrive in an L.A. comedy club, flipping out on four black people, using the n-word and making references to lynching; comedian Andy Dick attempted to reenact the event.
On Saturday night, Dick supposedly "heckled" Ian Bagg at L.A.'s Improv, while doing a comedy act, and flew up on stage to join the comedian. The two men then started discussing Richards and as Dick got the crowd all riled up, he yelled, "You're all a bunch of..." using the n-word that got Richards in so much trouble.
Dick now apologizes for his remark. In the Los Angeles Times, he stated, "I chose to make a joke about a subject that is not funny, in an attempt to make light of a serious subject, I have offended a lot of people, and I am sorry for my insensitivity. I wish to apologize to Ian, to the club and its patrons and to anyone who was hurt or offended by my remark."
Richards has been on many shows, including the Late Show with David Letterman, trying to apologize for his actions. He plans on meeting the four black men that he offended, face to face, to discuss his embarrassing act.
