Angelina Jolie Visits Flood Victims in Pakistan

Actress Angelina Jolie met with flood victims in Pakistan on Tuesday.

The flood, which occurred in August, is one of the worst natural disasters in Pakistan’s history. Around 1700 people have died. The total of all those affected reaches 17 million.

To date, around 82,000 miles of land have been flooded, destroying around 720,000 homes. The loss in crops is estimated to be around $1 billion.

Jolie, who is a goodwill ambassador of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, visited many victims, such as women who had lost their children in the flood elderly couples whose houses were completely destroyed.

Jolie was noted as being solemn in appearance as she heard devastating stories from the flood victims. Out of reference for the culture, Jolie wore a long black robe and a black head scark with red accents.
