A quaint, all-American diner becomes the center of an epic battle between the human race and Heaven’s war angels in Legion.
When God loses faith in the species He created in His own image, He sends an army of angels to end man’s existence. The company of celestial executioners (led by Gabriel Kevin Durand), is committed to carry out God’s orders until a fallen angel, Michael, (Paul Bettany), stands next to man alongside Bob Hanson, (Dennis Quaid), to overcome the Apocalypse.
Despite the eerie trailer and ominous black wings, the film did little to impress The New York Times. “The leaden dialogue and flat-footed storytelling hobble a talented cast that includes Dennis Quaid, Charles S. Dutton, Jon Tenney and Kate Walsh; only Paul Bettany, as an action-hero angel who takes the humans’ side, and Adrianne Palicki of Friday Night Lights, as the pregnant waitress, appear to be taking things seriously.”
Legion arrives on DVD May 11.
