Anika Noni Rose Enjoys Living in L.A.
Anika Noni Rose, who will be voicing an amphibian in the upcoming film "Princess and the Frog," has had many accomplishments in her life. She was in hit movie "Dreamgirls," got great reviews in HBO's "The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency," and won a Tony for her role in "Caroline, or Change."
Rose loved playing a voice in a cartoon, but found it a challenge as well. There were times when she had to act like she was running through a swamp, but was just standing in a room in front of a microphone. However, as much as Rose loved pretending to be running through swamps, she really does enjoy running through the streets of L.A. Rose shared some of her favorite places with the L.A. Times.
Some of her favorite places in L.A. include bookstores such as Bodhi Tree Bookstore, and music stores like Amoeba Records. Besides for the artsy things to do in L.A., she also enjoys eating out. Her favorite Italian restaurant is Madeo, and she also enjoys Good Earth, especially their pancakes.
When Rose needs to get away and just have some time to herself, she enjoys Griffith Park Observatory. She says it's a great place to go when you want to get out of the city-life without actually getting out of the city.
