Annie Leibovitz Sued
Celebrity photographer Annie Leibovitz is being sued by Art Capital Group Inc, an art finance company, for an apparent contract violation.
The lawsuit filed Wednesday in New York State Supreme Court asked a judge to force Leibovitz, 59, to oblige to the assigned person in selling copyrights and personal properties in order for the photographer to pay back a loan.
According to New York Daily News, Leibovitz originally borrowed $22 million from the lender, and then later the amount was increased to $24 million.
The lawsuit accused Leibovitz of "boldly deceptive conduct" and sought access by real estate agents to the photographer's homes in Manhattan and Rhinebeck, N.Y., to sell and use money to repay the loan.
"Defendants have communicated that they will not cooperate with plaintiff in any sale of the Fine Art Collateral, which, given the nature of such collateral, harms the ability to obtain full market value for the Fine Art Collateral," said the suit.
