Another Ninja Turtles Movie
If you've missed the "heroes in a half shell," known as the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, since their last movie in 2007, rejoice! The fifth movie since 1990 starring the famous turtles (and the fourth live-action movie) will be released in 2011, according to Entertainment Weekly.
The movie will be true to the original comics from the 1980s by Peter Laird and Kevin Eastman. The film might use face replacement technology, which would allow the turtles to be more expressive.
Producer Galen Walker, who also produced 2007's TMNT, said, "The original dozen comics . . . . are some of the best source material one could hope for," according to ComicBookMovie.com.
This year is the 25th anniversary of Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael and Michelangelo. Cinematical.com reports that there will be a "Shell-ebration" in New York City today with a screening of the first 1990 movie at the World Financial Center Plaza. Oh, and the Empire State Building will be lit green.
