Arkansas Anchorwoman Assaulted

A popular TV news anchorwoman was viciously attacked Sunday night.

Anne Pressly is well known in Little Rock for her work on the Good Morning, Arkansas show on KATV. This 26-year-old newswoman has made the worst kind of headlines, as the victim of a vicious attack.

She had attended a co-worker's party at a local restaurant Sunday night, leaving at approximately 10:30. The following morning, her mother became concerned when Anne did not answer her regular wake up call, and drove to Pressly's house to check on her. Anne was discovered in her bed by her mother, beaten so badly she was barely recognizable.

She is still in the hospital, awaiting surgery. The New York Times reports that police say Pressly's wounds were the result of "blunt force trauma," and the only thing that appeared to be missing was her purse.

Ms. Pressly lives in an upscale neighborhood in Little Rock, and she has been living in the city since high school, working in various capacities at the TV station until she finally landed a spot as a producer and reporter.

The police reports say there is no sign of entry being forced into Pressly's home, and the motive is currently considered to be robbery.
