Arkansas Doctor Injured by Mysterious Bomb
Family practice physician and chairman of the Arkansas State Medical Board Trent Pierce remains in critical condition after a mysterious bomb went off in his driveway Wednesday at 8 a.m. He was rushed to the Regional Medical Center in Memphis while the police investigated the scene, later calling in the FBI and the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives.
Police Chief Robert Paudert said not much was known about the explosion, including where the explosive device was placed, if Dr. Pierce was inside the car at the time of the blast, and who planted the bomb. No motives for a personal attack on the doctor could be concluded, as he was an upstanding doctor and well-liked, leaving open the possibility that this was a random attack, not particularly intended towards the doctor. All angles are being investigated as local police are working with federal agents to find out the intent and reason behind the bombing.
