Artie Lange Hospitalized for 9 Self-Inflicted Stabs
Artie Lange, a regular at the “Howard Stern Show,” allegedly stabbed himself 9 times, according to Access Hollywood.
Lange was hospitalized earlier in the week due to 9 self-inflicted wounds in an apparent suicide attempt.
The comedian was found by his mother, who called 911, in his New York apartment.
Lange suffered severe bleeding and underwent surgery.
In December Lange, who had six wounds made in hesitation and three deeper stab wounds, left the radio show for an indefinite amount of time.
In April 2008 Lange got into a fight with his personal assistant on air and later resigned from the Sirius Satellite Radio show.
Lange returned to the show later that month.
Later in August 2008 Lange checked himself into a rehabilitation facility.
Lange pleaded guilty in October 2009 to being under the influence of sleeping pills in July when he crashed his car.
He was fined $600, got his license revoked for 7 months and given a DUI.
