Ashlee Simpson Moves Out Of "Melrose Place"
Ashlee Simpson-Wentz made headlines when it was announced she would be the star of the "Melrose Place" remake. Producers are now saying that Wentz will be leaving the show and it was the plan from the beginning.
Colin Egglesfield's character, Auggie, will also be moving out of "Melrose Place". Simpson-Wentz plays Violet Foster.
Both Violet and Auggie have been part of the murder mystery involving Sydney, Laura Leighton's character, which began the season.
Executive producer Todd Slavkin said "We always knew that this murder mystery would end in episode 12,"
The network announced Thursday, that the two characters will make their final appearance in January on the CW drama.
On a brighter note, Heather Locklear will reprise her role from the 1990s "Melrose Place" as Amanda Woodward. Locklear will return to the show on Nov. 17. Also starring is original cast member Thomas Calabro.
