Ashlee Simpson-Wentz on Broadway
On Monday, Ashlee Simpson-Wentz made the announcement that she will be making her Broadway debut in Dec. Simpson will star as Roxie Hart in the revival of "Chicago". In 2006 the entertainer played Roxie in the London production of "Chicago".
Ashlee, 25, said in a statement made to MTV News "I'm honored to be reprising my role as Chicago's Roxie Hart, returning to the stage and joining this amazing cast, being on Broadway is a childhood dream come true."
The play will run until Feb. 17 2010 and producer Barry Weissler says the pop singer will join the production for 30 weeks beginning on Nov. 30.
Some of Simpson-Wentz's best selling singles are "Pieces Of Me", "L.O.V.E" and "Boyfriend" and is married to musician Pete Wentz. Recently, she was removed from the television series "Melrose Place".
Simpson-Wentz is not the first celebrity to hit the stage, stars like Jude Law, Hugh Jackman and Julia Stiles will also be on Broadway this fall.
