Two and a Half Men star Ashton Kutcher celebrated his 34th birthday Tuesday and sent out a message to his fans thanking them for the birthday wishes. However, he dedicated most of the 50-second video to what he hopes to accomplish in the coming year, vowing to “make the world a better place.”
As E! News notes, 2011 was a roller coaster ride for Kutcher. He was hired to replace Charlie Sheen on Two and a Half Men, helped MTV resurrect Punk’d and got himself in trouble with his tweets. He also separated from his wife of six years, Demi Moore.
However, he is ready to put all that behind him and start fresh. On his Twitter page, Kutcher posted a link to a Causes page he set up for the charity he and Moore set up, the DNA Foundation, which sets out to stop child trafficking and child pornography. He said that, as a birthday gift, he would “...love for my friends and family to help me raise $10,000 for DNA Foundation to fight child sexual exploitation. Donate $10 (or whatever you can) and I'll match donations dollar for dollar (up to $350,000).”
"I'm determined this year to do everything in my power to make the world a better place...any help that you could give towards that would be amazing - an amazing present for me...” Kutcher said in the video, according to Reuters.
To celebrate his birthday, Kutcher’s Two and a Half Men co-workers did present him with a cake. Kutcher tweeted a picture of the cake with the message, “Love my coworkers!” An eyewitness to the party told People that “Ashton was in a great mood and seemed to be excited to be back at work.”
While Moore spends time in rehab following her health scare last month, Kutcher took a trip to Brazil. People reports that he returned to the Two and a Half Men set on Jan. 31.
