Assault Charges Against Kiefer Sutherland May Be Dropped
Fashion designer Jack McCollough has reached an amiable agreement with 24 star Kiefer Sutherland, the Associated Press reported.
Sutherland allegedly headbutted McCollough and broke his nose when he (McCollough) allegedly pushed Brooke Shields, at a New York night club. This was following a celebrity-studded gala at the Costume Institute of the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
McCollough and Sutherland have, however, resolved their differences and put matters to rest. Sutherland apologized to the designer, who has said in a statement that he "wishes him well."
This resolution paves the way for the Manhattan District Attorney to ask that the charges against Sutherland be dropped. Sutherland is already in trouble with the law because of his second DUI conviction. He is serving a five-year probation term, and L.A. prosecutors are looking at the New York case as a possible probation violation, which may mean more jail time for Sutherland. He has already been to jail twice in 2004, once for 30 days and again for 18, for his first drunken-driving charge.
