Author Candace Bushnell to Chronicle Carrie's Teenage Years
Just when you thought Sex and the City was completely tapped out of its moneymaking potential, author Candace Bushnell has signed on to chronicle Carrie Bradshaw's teenage years in two young adult novels to be entitled "The Carrie Diaries," according to E! Online.
The two books will revolve around Carrie's high school years.
"I've always been interested in exploring Carrie's teenage years," Bushnell said. "Carrie in high school did not follow the crowd-she led it. It was there that she began observing and commenting on the social scene."
HarperCollins has signed on to publish the series and said it will give readers "an inside look at Carrie's friendships, romances, and how she realized her dream of becoming a writer."
HarperCollins publisher Donna Bray told the New York Observer that the scene would be set partly in New York City and partly in a suburb where Carrie grew up.
Bray would not say if Carrie will lose her virginity in the series, but the scene was set during an episode of Sex and the City, when Carrie tells Charlotte her virginity was lost to an 11th grader named Seth Bateman.
