Autopsy results of a decomposed female body that was recovered from Indianapolis’ Fall Creek on Sunday confirm that it is not of Lauren Spierer, a 20-year-old Indiana University student who was reported missing on June 3.
The Marion County coroner’s office has announced that not only does the body not match Spierer’s dental records, but it is also of an African-American woman.
A law enforcement source was quoted by The Journal News as saying that there is also a substantial height difference between the body and the 5-foot-tall Spierer.
Spierer, a Greenburgh, N.Y. native who studied fashion merchandising, had just finished her sophomore year at Indiana University when she disappeared after a night of partying with friends in Bloomington.
Friends of Spierer’s have revealed that Jay Rosenbaum, the last person to admit seeing her on the night of her disappearance, has not been forthcoming with the Bloomington Police Department in disclosing information.
Fox News reports that Rosenbaum remains a person of interest, along with four others, including Spierer’s boyfriend, Jesse Wolff, who have hired lawyers and remained tight-lipped.
Investigators have described the behavior of the missing student’s companions as “curious, disturbing, perplexing, and unfortunate.”
