Avril Lavigne weds Sum 41 boyfriend

Pop-punk singer Avril Lavigne and Sum 41 frontman Deryck Whibley were married Saturday afternoon at a private California estate, a source told People magazine.

Over 110 guests were in attendance, including family and friends from the Canadian couple's home province of Ontario. They were married in a non-denominational ceremony decorated with white flowers.

An outdoor cocktail hour preceded the red-themed reception dinner held in a tent on the estate.

Lavigne and Whibley were engaged in June 2005 while Lavigne was finishing her European tour in Venice. They have been together for two years.

Lavigne voiced a character in this year's animated hit "Over the Hedge" and is busy working on her third album.

She told People about the record, "There's going to be some love songs on there. That's what I feel, so that's what I'm going to end up writing."
