'The Bachelor' Recap: It's Okay To Fall...

Season 14, Episode 5: Jake Pavelka starts to build deeper connections with the women as the group narrows down to four.

Things start to heat up this week on The Bachelor as the number of one-on-one dates increase to three, and an awkward two-on-one date lingers.

To begin, the women get off the stuffy tour bus and realize they will be staying at a five-star hotel in San Francisco. Jake claims they will "start doing five-star things" for a change.

The first on-on-one date belongs to Tenley. The two take a trolley to Chinatown where they explore the city and browse the streets. Jake and Tenley make each other fortune cookies and they decide to open them later. At tea time, the two discuss what they expect from marriage and proceed to kiss. For dinner, Jake takes her to Bay Bridge. While enjoying the nice view, they open their fortune cookies. Jake comments that "great minds think alike" as both of the fortune cookies say "kiss me."

Next, the two-on-one date does not involve both Vienna and Ali (thankfully). I don't think we could have handled anymore of that. It belonged to Vienna and Gia. A huge treasure chest appears at the hotel room containing a bunch of clothes for the date. The girls shriek in excitement. There's nothing better than a whole selection of clothes to win a girl over.

Vienna and Gia awkwardly ride in the limo over the Golden Gate Bridge to a winery near a castle. Jake awaits them at the top of the stairs. As usual, the girls sigh and swoon over the predetermined cheesy moves. Vienna confronts Jake about the situation with Ali during the last rose ceremony. She expresses that she was really hurt and upset by Ali's reaction and it was a lot of her to handle. She becomes emotional as she says that it is hard for her to handle the girls' taunting in the house. Jake realizes this and comforts Vienna. Later, Vienna becomes jealous when Jake takes Gia aside for alone time. Jake notices that Gia has been pulling away. She becomes hurt by thinking about him with other girls. He tells her that they have special moments and that he thinks she's amazing. He tells her "it's okay to fall." They share a romantic kiss. Meanwhile, Vienna gets lost in the castle as she is looking for Jake and she eventually finds them.

Later in the night, the two women prepare for bed as they are to spend the night in the caste. Vienna decides to pay Jake's room a visit. She brings him wine and finds him almost naked in bed. They chat for a bit. Jake says to the camera he admits he had dirty thoughts. Despite these thoughts, he expresses to Vienna that she should go back to her room as it wasn't fair to Gia who was upstairs and the other girls back in the house.

The next one-on-one date in the show belongs to Corrie. They ride in a canoe down the lake. Corrie wishes Jake would kiss her, but he doesn't take the initiative. They have a nice dinner in an aquarium. Jake asks her about how she feels about living with someone and she says she would live in an apartment by herself close to him. He asks her if she is saving herself for marriage and she admits that she is a virgin. He very respectful of this fact and she finally gets the kiss she has been waiting for.

Finally, it is Ali's turn for her one-on-one date. She is especially excited since San Francisco is her where she resides. She gets the chance to plan their date. The date progresses really well and everything seems to flow naturally, however there is a tense moment where Jake confronts her about her issues with Vienna. She tells him she realizes she needs to trust him and promises to let go of the situation. The date continues happily. Needless to say, Jake is impressed with the date.

Before the rose ceremony, Jake realizes he's been neglecting Vienna. He makes it up to her by showing her where he's been staying and she sees the view of San Francisco for the first time.

At the rose ceremony, Jake sends Corrie home. He feels that something was missing in their connection. Poor Corrie goes home surprised and heartbroken. The remaining four women rejoice as they anticipate introducing Jake to their families for the hometown dates. This should be an entertaining week ahead.
