Back to Reality for Jessica Simpson

The new reality TV series will focus on Simpson's travels and findings on what "beauty" is.

After having her much-talked about body image trashed by tabloids, bloggers, fans, etc., Jessica Simpson has landed a new reality TV show with VH1, according to Us Magazine. The concept is simple; Ms. Simpson will travel around different parts of the world and find out what defines "beauty" for the particular region.

Film.com reports the show will be called "The Price of Beauty" and is slated to begin airing in 2010. Jessica Simpson and her father, Joe Simpson, will be co-producing the show. It's been awhile since her "Newlyweds" days and her body has been under scrutiny since wearing "mom" jeans earlier this year. However, the controversy that it created was due to her body being seen as a sex-symbol and thus the jeans almost entirely ruined that reputation with a couple of snapshots.

ET.com states that Jessica will "study the local fashions, dietary fads, and beauty regimes." She's also quoted as saying, "I know we will all learn a lot from this journey." Simpson had been shopping the idea around and looking for distribution of the show for a while. VH1's Jeff Olde says, "Jessica Simpson has been the target of our obsession with beauty on both sides of the equation. She is a woman who can set trends and create firestorms with a single photo. . . . And we at VH1 are excited to be in the passenger seat next to her as she begins this fantastic journey."
