Baldwin Wants to Write Book
Alec Baldwin is attempting to turn his recent fiasco into literary gold. Fresh from his well-publicized voicemail tirade, directed at his 11-year-old daughter, Baldwin has revealed that he intends to write a book about "parental alienation." On The View, the actor shared with Barbara Walters and Rosie O'Donnell his plans to dedicate himself to making known to the world the suffering and injustices imposed on divorced dads. He intends to have his divorce litigation book published this year.
Baldwin's recent shifting interest prompted him to try to break things off with 30 Rock, NBC's freshman sitcom. However, the network has no intention of letting the actor out of his contract.
During the interview, Baldwin also lashed out at his ex, Kim Basinger, and the celebrity gossip industry for "destroying lives," yet mentioned his daughter by name only in passing. Barbara Walters felt compelled to remind Baldwin that his first concern should be his daughter after the actor delivered a lengthy monologue on the injustices he'd suffered as a divorced parent.
