Barbara Walters: Happiness at "The View"
This past election season was reason for The View to be its own Hot Topic, as the morning chat show was often a watercooler topic because of the intense on-air spats between the co-hosts.
But creator and executive producer Barbara Walters is happy to report that everyone on the show is getting along just fine.
According to the Associated Press, Walters said, "I don't know of any five women who get along as well as we do." She also mentioned that things are much more cordial now.
This must be especially true of co-hosts Joy Behar and Elisabeth Hasselbeck. The liberal and conservative women, respectively, were often the ones who debated with each other the most this season over politics. Walters said that they "love sparring," and that there were never any hard feelings.
As for the show's ratings success, Walters acknowledges that their camaraderie is to thank.
"We're happy," she said, "and the show's success reflects that."
Things are so good over at the ABC show that all five women are hanging out together.
"We see each other off-camera. Whoopi [Goldberg] is having a big Christmas party for everybody. Last week, Whoopi, Joy and I had dinner together," she said. Hasselbeck and Sherri Shepherd did not attend due to illness.
