Barrymore to Direct "Eclipse"?
According to Newsweek, Drew Barrymore has thrown her hat into the ring to direct the film adaptation of Eclipse. It would be the third film in the "Twilight" series of movies.
Barrymore, 34, has had previous success as an actress, starring in such films as E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial, Charlie's Angels, and Poison Ivy.
Barrymore confirmed that she is among the candidates for the directing position on the film. Barrymore said in a recent interview, "I'm one of the directors that is being talked about, which is great, because I'm a director now, but, you know, they'll make their choice."
The film is scheduled for a summer 2010 release.
Barrymore directed Whip It!, starring Ellen Page, which will hit theaters later this year. She also is starring in the forthcoming HBO film, Grey Gardens, in which she stars alongside Jessica Lange and Jeanne Tripplehorn.
