Barrymore Twilighting?

Entertainment Weekly has discovered that one of the names up for directing the third installment of Twilight is none other than Drew Barrymore.

Summit Entertainment is hard at work trying to lock in a director for Eclipse, the third film in the vampire romance series.

Before the second movie, New Moon, has even begun to film, Summit has made a list of potential directors for the third one, fast-tracking the release dates for the franchise. Drew Barrymore is one of the biggest names on that list.

According to movie Web site JoBlo, Eclipse is set for release only eight months after New Moon, meaning that production of the third film will begin before the second film is even finished.

Barrymore is just coming off wrapping up Whip It!, which is about a roller derby league in Austin. It also stars Ellen Page and Juliette Lewis.

New Moon is set to be directed by Chris Weitz, whose last film was The Golden Compass.
