Barton Quits Melrose Remake
Actress Mischa Barton has moved on from the remake of Melrose Place in order to star in TV show Beautiful Life.
The actress quit her role on Melrose so that she can play a struggling actress in the pilot. The show is about a group of models living together in a mixed sex residence in New York City, according to WENN.
While the actress was in negotiations to star in the remake of the popular '90s show, she has moved on to Beautiful Life. The original Melrose Place was a spin-off of Beverly Hills, 90210, which has a remake/update all its own.
WENN is reporting that Barton will play Sonja, a supermodel struggling to save her flailing career. "The show will be racy, drugs, drinking, things like that," Barton told E! News recently.
Beautiful Life is being developed by actor Ashton Kutcher, who himself started out as a model.
Barton was last seen on television in The O.C. The teen drama ended in 2006.
