The Beatles: Rock Band has modest sales

The MTV games release of "The Beatles: Rock Band" came out on September 9. It was released on all three gaming consoles; Wii, X-Box, and Playstation 3.

In total for all three platforms, the game sold about 595,000 units last month. In the gaming realm according to the marketing tracking firm NDP Group. According to USAToday.com, "the game took two spots among September's top 10. The Xbox 360 version was No. 5, with 254,000 sold; the Wii game was No. 10 (208,600). An additional 132,400 sold for PS3."

Sources expect the game to sell about 1 million copies. Though initially not a hit it had respectable numbers across the board. In the next coming months downloadable albums will be released within the games store. The first album out is "Abbey Road" for $17 this week.

Video game analysts believe that the game will have a rebirth in sales around the holiday season. "Rock Band" outsold its competitor "Guitar Hero 5".
