Being There for Adult Children

Tonight I sit at church with parents sharing all the heartache we go through.

Tonight as we had an awards banquet for boys in Royal Rangers, I sit there chatting with parents. My heart aches for the children who are torn apart by divorced parents where one is stealing, one is in the pen, one is living with someone and had a new baby and doesn't want his three sons, and it all broke my heart.

I spend a lot of time on the Internet chatting with parents whose hearts are breaking because their sons and daughters are doing drugs, partying and everything else but caring for their children.

My daughter has had to fight to get things done for two children as their Mother just does not care. She is too busy stealing from other people to take care of her children.

Our children live in a throwaway society. I am thankful that my husband and I can work with boys and try to train them to be fine young men and leaders hopefully of tomorrow.

One parent and I were talking about how the principal of the school singles out certain children and doesn't allow them to do the fun things in school. I know of three from last week who were not allowed to go swimming just because the principal does not like them. Who is hurting here? The children; our next generation of adults.
