Beloved theme song writer Vic Mizzy dies at 93

One of the most talented songwriters in the entertainment world died on Monday.

According to Entertainment Weekly, singer and songwriter Vic Mizzy died in his Bel Air home of heart failure at the age of 93. Mizzy is probably best known for some of the most popular theme songs on television.



Some of his hits included themes for classics like "The Addams Family," "The Brady Bunch," "Gilligan's Island," and even more recent shows like "Cheers" and "Friends." Apart from television themes, Mizzy also had some popular hits himself, according to the Associated Press. He gained notoriety with songs like "Pretty Kitty Blue Eyes" and "The Whole World Is Singing My Song."

Although he is gone, his catchy tunes for popular shows are sure to live on for many years to come. Mizzy is survived by a brother, a daughter, and two grandchildren.
