BET Awards Show to Honor Michael Jackson
With the BET Awards approaching, artists are scurrying to alter performances to honor Michael Jackson, reports the Los Angeles Times.
Artists who have worked on their performances for weeks are changing them last minute to honor Jackson, said Stephen Hill, an executive producer for the awards show.
"To change it up in three days is something that's not easy, but they're all willing and looking forward to it," Hill added. "There's a direct line from Ne-Yo to Michael Jackson. There's a direct line from Beyonce to Michael Jackson. There's a direct line from Jay-Z to Michael Jackson. I think they'll want to pay tribute in their own way."
The BET awards show is dedicated to the late King of Pop because of his influence on the music scene and in pop culture. The awards show will take place Sunday, June 28, at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, with host Jamie Foxx.
