It’s not every day a social media site champions for an 88-year-old to host a sketch comedy show. But according to People magazine, more than 331,000 Facebook users are calling for the legendary Betty White to host Saturday Night Live. The news is a delightful shock to White.
“I don't even know where that came from,” White tells People, “That just came out of left field. It's ridiculous. I don't think Lorne Michaels even knows about it, so we won't worry about it.”
White tells the mag she would gladly accept the offer from Michaels, SNL’s creator and producer.
White made a splash with one of the funniest Super Bowl commercials for Snickers this year. Co-starring in the box-office hit The Proposal with Sandra Bullock and receiving the lifetime achievement award from the Screen Actors Guild was the icing on an already delicious cake.
The Emmy winner already had two remarkable turns in the iconic TV shows Mary Tyler Moore and The Golden Girls.
Hmm, maybe you should join that Facebook group.
