Betty White will not be following in the footsteps of Friends with Benefits co-stars Mila Kunis and Justin Timberlake, both of whom have accepted invitations to attend separate Marine Corps Balls in November.
White, 89, has declined Sergeant Ray Lewis’ invitation to a military affair due to a scheduling conflict.
“I am deeply flattered and truly appreciate the invitation, as everyone knows I love a man in uniform ... but unfortunately I cannot accept, as I will be taping an episode of Hot in Cleveland,” she said in a statement to Access Hollywood.
Sgt. Lewis, who watched fellow marines Sgt. Scott Moore and Corporal Kelsey De Santis land dates with high-profile celebrities, followed suit by uploading a YouTube video in which he extended an invite to the comedic legend and promised to show her a good time.
“She’s funny, she’s sweet, she’s mature. She’s the all-around perfect woman,” he said of White. “I really think we’d have a good time. I’m fun, you know. I think I can make her laugh. I think she can make me laugh. I think we can laugh together. So, call me!”
Kunis and Timberlake appeared on NBC’s The Today Show yesterday to confirm that they will accompany Cpl. De Santis and Sgt. Moore, respectively, to their military affairs.
“Marines have a lot of balls,” Kunis acknowledged, to which Timberlake replied, “We want to pay honor to our country and embrace their balls.”
