Beyonce and Jay-Z Marriage Confirmed

According to Reuters, celebrity couple Beyonce Knowles and Jay-Z have filed marriage papers which were returned to a New York City town clerk on Friday.

Donna Conkling is the town clerk of Scarsdale Village in Westchester County who received the official marriage license and reported it on Tuesday.

Beyonce and Jay-Z had an extravagant, highly-private celebration on April 4 in Manhattan. The power couple have continued to remain secretive about the details of their wedding. However, it is known that they chose April 4 as their wedding date because the number four is significant to them. Both Jay-Z and Beyonce were born on the 4th - Beyonce was born Sept. 4, 1981, while her husband was born December 4, 1969.

Jay-Z, whose real name is Shawn Carter, has been in a relationship with Knowles since September 2002. Jay-Z is from Brooklyn and is well-known for his former days as a street hustler. Knowles was born in Houston and is recognized for her "daddy's girl" image.
