Beyonce and mother sued

Former business associate seeks $1.5 million in past wages

Beyonce Knowles and her mother are being sued for $1.5 million by a former business associate who claims the two owe him money for securing a deal to launch their clothing line, House of Dereon.

George Walker, CEO of Icon Entertainment, said he helped land endorsement and licensing opportunities in August of 2003 for the duo's street-wear clothing line, according to the Associated Press.

"Beyonce and Tina Knowles agreed on the terms of our business relationship, but have failed to properly compensate me for reasons unknown to me," Walker said in a statement and reported by the AP. "I just want to receive my fair share and move on with my business."

Beyonce, her mother and the clothing company declined comment on the matter to the AP.
