Beyonce nabs ten Grammy nominations

The nominations for the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards were announced on Wednesday with Beyonce leading the pack with the most nominations this year.

According to Reuters, Beyonce has ten nominations, and is followed closely by 19-year-old Taylor Swift with nine. Both artists are up for album of the year along with the Black Eyed Peas, Dave Matthews Band, and Lady Gaga. The Black Eyed Peas, Maxwell, and Kanye West each have six nominations, the third-highest number.

Swift and Beyonce were also both nominated for record of the year and song of the year. This year is Swift's first time being nominated for a Grammy while Beyonce is a veteran with ten wins both in her solo career and her career in the group Destiny's Child.

The winners will be announced on television on Jan. 31.
