Beyonce starts her "fierce" tour at Madison Square Garden
It would be foolish to suggest that anything Beyonce Knowles does, with all her attitude and flair, should be unexciting, and her commencing tour certainly should live up to her reputation. Beyonce kicked off her U.S. tour for her Sasha Fierce album in Madison Square Garden on Sunday evening, starting the set with a glittering rendition of "Crazy in Love," complete with husband, rapper and partner in crime, Jay-Z. Rolling Stone comments that Beyonce credited many other musicians during her set by borrowing lyrics from Sarah McLachlan and Alanis Morrissette.
Beyonce's entourage for her stage performance includes a guitar-weilding all-woman band. All of her ensembles for the shows were created by French designer Thierry Mugler, who designs different outfits for both Beyonce and her alter-ego, Sasha Fierce, who wears less glamorous, more rough and tumble clothes that pertain to the persona. The star also showed footage of herself at 5 years old, dancing to some tunes which she mimicked perfectly on stage, a moment which was planned to show fans she had wanted to become a performer since she was a child.
