Beyonce Wants to Add Broadway Star to Her Name
Beyonce Knowles wants to add Broadway star to her already impressive resume. From Grammy wins to successful movies, the "Bootylicious" singer is ready to conquer two new landsmotherhood and Broadway.
After marrying long-time boyfriend Jay-Z last year, the entertainer plans to settle down in a couple of years. While promoting her new movie, Obsessed, Knowles spoke to Reuters about one day having a family of her own, touring less, and debuting on Broadway.
"I'll be able to go to the theater every day and drop my kids off and maybe make some food -- maybe I'll know how to cook by then -- and then go do what I love and have some normalcy and have a regular schedule," said Knowles. "I definitely want to do Broadway."
For this 27-year-old, hard work seems to be her middle name. Not only does her "I Am . . ." world tour begin this week in Croatia, but Obsessed, hitting theaters today, marks the performer's first non-singing role in a film.
"I love this role because in most of these movies the man comes in and saves the day," said Knowles. "And my character Sharon is the hero. She's strong and doesn't choose to be the victim, call her husband, call the police, hide in the attic -- she fights."
