Beyonce's Father Addresses Aretha

Matthew Knowles fires back at Aretha Franklin, following her blow-up over Beyonce's Grammy introductory performance.

People reports that Beyonce's father/manager, Mathew Knowles, is finally speaking out against Aretha Franklin in defense of his daughter over a remark she made at the Grammys.

Knowles said in a statement Thursday: "Something this ridiculous - it's childish, it's unprofessional. And it's a sad day when egos get bruised because somebody used the word king, queen, prince or princess."

Franklin is reportedly upset about Beyonce's choice of words during the introduction of Tina Turner on the Grammy stage Sunday night. Franklin says she felt disrespected after Knowles referred to Turner as the "Queen", while downgrading Franklin to a brief name check in a long list of inspirational singers past.

Allegedly, Franklin also known as the "Queen of Soul" regards herself as such, and felt it offending to have been regarded as otherwise.
