Bianca Jagger Kicked Out of Apartment
Bianca Perez-Mora Mac?as, better known to the world as the Rolling Stones front man former wife Bianca Jagger, has been evicted from her New York apartment after renting it for the past 20 years.
According to the Associated Press, Jagger was paying a whopping $4,614 a month in her Manhattan Upper East Side rent-controlled pad. However, her situation destabilized after the New York Court of Appeals ruled that foreigners on tourist visas cannot claim New York as a "primary residence." It has since been leased to another tenant.
Born in Nicaragua and of British citizenship, the former model became, after detaching herself from the superficial world her career spun around, very much involved in social and humanitarian issues. She was an active advocate through the 1970s and early 80s on issues pertaining to Central America. In 1972, she organized aid for victims of the Nicaraguan earthquake and she lobbied Congress on behalf of Salvadoran refugees. She was divorced from Mick Jagger in 1979.
Jagger, today on her late 50s, is a Council of Europe Goodwill Ambassador, Chair of the World Future Council, Chair of the Bianca Jagger Human Rights Foundation, and a member of the Director's Leadership Council of Amnesty International US.
