Billionaire Richard Branson Wants to Fist-Fight Stephen Colbert

Colbert, in turn, proposes duel involving naked models.

The feud between Virgin's Richard Branson and Comedy Central's Stephen Colbert goes to the next round. In a so-called Digg Dialog interview with journalist Arianna Huffington, Branson recently revealed he would like to fist-fight the comedian.

When Huffington asked him, "What historical figure would you like to fist-fight?" Branson at first said Mark Antony, "because at least if I beat him I might get Cleopatra," then changed his answer to Stephen Colbert.

"We [Virgin America] named a plane after him, and now he already wants a spaceship named after him. He's getting far too big for his boots. We'll fist-fight the next time I see him."

It didn't take Stephen Colbert long to respond. On his show, The Colbert Report, he accepted Branson's challenge – in a pretty bizarre way.

"And since you (…) have challenged me to a duel, we'll go by the classic 1777 code of duelling, which clearly states in rule 16, 'The challenged has the right to choose his own weapon,' in which case I say we duel with naked models clinging to our backs: The Feud of the Dudes with the Nudes!"

Colbert was referencing a picture of Branson that was shot for the Italian Vogue and showed the billionaire kite surfing with a naked woman clinging to him.

The feud first started when Branson appeared on the August 22, 2007 episode of The Colbert Report to promote his airline which had recently named a plane after Stephen Colbert. When Branson felt Colbert was talking too much about himself and too little about the airline, he reacted by dumping a glass of water on the host.
