Bills Fire Head Coach Juron
The Buffalo Bills have fired head coach Dick Juron after the team's 3-6 start.
Bills owner Ralph Wilson made the announcement on Tuesday after the team's most recent loss, a 41-17 loss to the Tennessee Titans (3-6) .
Since being hired in 2006, Juron has a record 24-33. He currently has two years left on his deal that will pay him a total of $6 million in 2009-10. Defensive coordinator Perry Fewell was named on the interim head coach and will make his debut on Sunday when the team travels to Jacksonville.
The Bills offense has been one of the worst in the league under Juron, averaging 15.6 points per game, while ranking 29th in total offense and passing yards. The team was expected to improve offensively, with the preseason addition of wide receiver Terrell Owens.
Owens, who is battling a hamstring injury, hasn't produced as expected. The much maligned receiver has 26 receptions for 366 yards and 1 touchdown so far this year.
Juron, the former head coach of the Chicago Bears and interim coach of the Detroit Lions, has a record of 60-82 as a head coach in the NFL.
