Billy Mays Autopsy Reveals Cocaine Use
Autopsy results for TV pitchman Billy Mays shows that cocaine use was a contributing factor to the TV personality's death, reports the Associated Press.
Mays, 50, died of a heart attack in his sleep at his condo in Tampa on June 27. His wife found him unresponsive the next morning.
According to the Associated Press and msnbc.com, the Hillsborough County medical examiner's office announced Friday that Mays had last used cocaine days before his death. Although Mays passed away due to heart disease, cocaine use was a contributing factor in his death, the report adds.
Mays was known for his boisterous voice and energetic commercials pitching "As Seen on TV" gadgets and cleaning products like OxiClean and Orange Glo.
The Associated Press says the TV pitchman's career started on the Home Shopping Network and then expanded into commercials and infomercials. His latest accomplishment was a reality TV series on Discovery Channel, named "Pitchmen."
