Billy Mays Dies
The Discovery Channel announced the death of commercial pitchman Billy Mays on Sunday.
Mays, 50, was best known for his enthusiastic hawking of products such as OxyClean and Mighty Putty. Recently, he starred on the Discovery Channel show "Pitchmen."
Mays was found unresponsive by his wife in their Tampa, Fla., home and pronounced dead early Sunday morning, according to The Associated Press.
There were no signs of a break-in and police do not suspect foul play. An autopsy will be performed on Monday.
The Discovery Channel said in a statement: "Everyone that knows him was aware of his larger-than-life personality, generosity and warmth
He will be greatly missed as a loyal and compassionate friend. Our deepest sympathies go out to his family at this time of incredible loss."
