Billy Mays Found Dead

The popular infomercial spokesman was found dead in his home.

Billy Mays, the 50-year-old infomercial pitchman for such products as Oxiclean and Kaboom was found dead in his Tampa, Florida home on Sunday morning, by his wife, Deborah Mays. Police suspect no foul play was involved in Mays's sudden death.

The day before he died, Mays was aboard a US Airways flight to Tampa, which suffered a tire blowout while landing. However, US Airways claims that no passengers sustained any serious injuries.

Lt. Brian Dugan, of the Tampa Police Dept., told People magazine, "He was under a doctor's care for a recent hip surgery and was due to have his second surgery [Monday]. We have no reason to suspect his death had anything to do with the airplane's rough landing Saturday, but we can't comment until we have the autopsy report."

The cause of Mays's death is uncertain at this time. Mays is survived by his wife, Deborah, and their two children.
