Billy Murray Under the Influence While Driving ... A Golf Cart?

Murray pulled over in Stockholm while driving under the influence in a golf cart.

Bill Murray, in Sweden to attend a golf tournament, was pulled over while driving a golf cart in downtown Stockholm. Operating a golf cart on city streets is legal in Sweden, but it is quite rare, so it raised suspicion among local police. Once pulled over, police found that Murray smelled of alcohol. However, Murray refused to take a breath test, "citing U.S. legislation," according to Detective-Inspector Christer Holmund.

A blood test was taken, forcing both the police and Murray to wait 14 days for results. Murray approved and signed a document stating that he was driving under the influence and will have a police officer plead guilty in his place if the case goes to trial. Sweden's legal blood alcohol limit is quite low, and depending on his level, Murray could be sentenced to prison. It appears that Murray took the golf cart from a display at his hotel. While not intended for guest use, the golf tournament head stated: "I don't hold any grudge against Bill Murray for borrowing our cart for a while."
