Miley Cyrus might have some new musical competition...from her father.
Now that Hannah Montana has finished filming, Miley's dad, Billy Ray Cyrus, has formed a new band, according to countrymusicislove.com. The band is called Brother Clyde and they are set to release their first album on August 10th.
The band is more of a rock band, which is different from Billy Ray's style. Cyrus is more known for his country music and, of course, being Miley's dad on Hannah Montana and in real life.
“I always loved rock ‘n’ roll,” Cyrus says. “That was a heavy part of what I was as a young juvenile delinquent. I tried from my first album to rock like any other Southern rock band.”
Billy Ray's number one hit, "Achy Breaky Heart," earned him the title of having the first single ever to achieve triple Platinum status in Australia. He has released eleven studio albums since 1992 and released 38 singles.
Brother Clyde is made up of Billy Ray, Samantha Maloney on drums, Jamie Miller and Dan Knight on guitar, Dave Henning on bass and rapper King Phaze.
The band's first single is entitled "Lately," and it will be on the band's self-titled album, which is due to hit the shelves of Walmart on August 10th. You can hear Brother Clyde's single now on iTunes.
