Biography Channel to Air Three New Shows

The Biography Channel has announced its plans to bring three new series to its network, one of which will be hosted by William Shatner.

On Wednesday, the Biography Channel unveiled its plans to premiere three new programs, including one to be hosted by William Shatner.

According to an article on HollywoodReporter.com, “The former Star Trek captain will command a program called Shatner's Aftermath that looks at Americans who became overnight household names, such as The Unibomber and Iraq war PFC Jessica Lynch. This marks the second Shatner series on Bio, with Shatner's Raw Nerve returning this year.”

The second show is a spin-off of the Bio Channel series I Survived…, aptly titled I Survived ... Beyond and Back, which will feature people depicting their experiences of dying and then being resuscitated, The network has ordered six episodes. The third program is titled My Ghost Story, and is a spin-off of the another of the Bio Channel’s popular shows, Celebrity Ghost Stories. It will chronicle people’s encounters with the paranormal. Eight episodes have been ordered by Mark Phillips, who will be the show’s executive producer/showrunner as he is for The Protectors, a series on A&E.

The HollywoodReporter.com article concludes by stating that, “Bio is coming off its two most-watched quarters in the network's history and is up 10% among adults 19-49 year to date. The network rebranded from Biography Channel to Bio last year and added the tagline True Story."
