Biologist Dies of the Plague

Eric York, a biologist, most likely died of the plague.

A biologist in Arizona most likely died of the plague, Grand Canyon National Park announced on Friday. Eric York, a 37-year-old wildlife biologist for the National Park Service, reportedly had plague in his body as per the autopsy officials. Anyone who came within 6 feet of him were given antibiotics, a total of 49 people. They still have not exhibited ant symptoms and they have been on the medication since before Wednesday. Most likely York was exposed to the disease when he performed an autopsy on an mountain lion who was infected by it, according to USA Today. He was the only one to be in direct contact with the mountain lion. Three days after his encounter York went to the Grand Canyon Clinic, located on the South Rim of the Grand Canyon, with flu-like symptoms. Since symptoms of the plague are similar to that of the flu he was sent home that day. His family held private services for him Saturday.
