Fergie told the crowd of 60,000 it was a dream to play on the great lawn as 'there's not many artists who have played Central Park'

The Black Eyed Peas held a fundraising event in New York City on Friday night in conjunction with Chase Bank and the Robin Hood Foundation to support ending poverty in the city.

The event was canceled over the summer due to poor weather conditions, but the show went off without a hitch over the weekend.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, a total of $4 million was donated to the cause by the end of the night.

“Lightning didn’t strike twice!” Fergie told the crowd of 60,000 in Central Park. Will.i.am said, “Philanthropy is the fabric of the Black Eyed Peas.”

AOL Music reports the group played such hits as “I Gotta Feeling,” and “Where is the Love?”

Fergie was undoubtedly excited to perform for the crowd, telling them that having the chance to play on the great lawn of Central Park is “a dream.”
