Blagojevich Compares Reality TV to Politics

The former governor shows that he still has his sense of humor.

Although former Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich was recently denied the opportunity to travel to the Costa Rica jungle to film the reality show, I'm a Celebrity . . . Get Me Out of Here, he said on NBC's Today show this morning that being on the show wouldn't be that different than being a governor.

The Chicago Sun-Times reports that Blagojevich said, "The idea of being in the jungle, toughing it out and sort of creating a little civil society with other people and seeing how you can govern that little society, it's not that unlike what it was like when I was governor of the fifth-largest state in America."

Blagojevich also said that he understands and respects the decision made by Judge James Zagel saying that he is not permitted to travel for the show. "I guess the judge did save me from eating bugs," Blagojevich joked.

Despite this setback, the Chicago Tribune reports that Blagojevich will have plenty of other opportunities in the future. Glenn Selig, his publicist, said, "People have been calling for months with offers. It hasn't stopped."
