Blake Fielder-Civil Released from Prison

Amy Winehouse's husband, Blake Fielder-Civil, was released from prison on November 5.

Amy Winehouse's husband, Blake Fielder-Civil, was released from Edmunds Hill Prison in eastern England on November 5, according to the Associated Press. Fielder-Civil is freed only on the condition he will check into rehab, but the specific terms haven't been released.

Fielder-Civil was arrested and found guilty of getting into a physical fight with pub manager James King in a bar fight in 2006. He then bribed King to keep quiet about the matter and was arrested last November, charged with assault and obstruction of justice. Fielder-Civil served only less than half of his 27 month prison sentence.

Although not completely confirmed, it has been reported by the Daily Mail newspaper that Winehouse was not by her husband's side for his release, despite visiting him in prison several times. Winehouse and Fielder-Civil were married in 2007 and the two are known for their erratic behavior. Although Winehouse's 2006 album, Back to Black, has won critical acclaim as well as several Grammys, she has recently experienced a rocky personal life and often found herself in trouble with the law as well. Winehouse entered rehab earlier this year after a video of her smoking crack cocaine was released, but the singer failed to remain in rehab for an extended period of time.

No comment from Britain's department of prisons about Fielder-Civil's release has been issued at this time.
